Our church

The church of St John the Baptist has been at the heart of village life for hundreds of years, and it’s easy to take it for granted.

There has been a stone church in Wateringbury for over 900 years, but St John’s is more than just an old building on the main road.  It’s the hub of a wide range of different activities for people playing a part in the life of the village.  The many activities that go on in and around the church give Wateringbury its distinctive character.  They help to create a feeling of belonging and make life here enjoyable and worthwhile.
